Well, I now know why Info posted what he did.
While I still, personally, bear no ill will toward Memo, as nothing has been said against me... I've been privy to emails between the them that shed light on the whole situation.
Info's tirade here is best seen as the final "straw" between them... ie... Memo's religious stance was only a small part of what caused Info to "go off".
This will be my last post on THIS subject... I just wanted some of you to know that it wasn't just the religious overtones that caused Info to do as he did.

To Jim: I want you to know that Info holds you in the highest regard... what he posted was not meant as a derogatory statement against you in the least. Both he and I think your a great guy .

An old buddy of mine is the best example I can relate on the good that religon brings.
He was recon in NAM, a middleweight boxer, a man I've seen strike out ,without direct provocation, on a number of occasions at outspoken strangers. I know of him hunting down "targets", for want of a better word, on his vacation for sport.

Today he is a different man. This email I received is an example:

God's Boxes
>> >
>> > I have in my hands two boxes
>> > Which God gave me to hold.
>> > He said, "Put all your sorrows in the black box,
>> > And all your joys in the gold."
>> >
>> > I heeded His words, and in the two boxes
>> > Both my joys and sorrows I stored,
>> > But though the gold became heavier each day
>> > The black was as light as before.
>> >
>> > With curiosity, I opened the black,
>> > I wanted to find out why,
>> > And I saw, in the base of the box, a hole
>> > Which my sorrows had fallen out by.
>> >
>> > I showed the hole to God, and mused,
>> > "I wonder where my sorrows could be."
>> > He smiled a gentle smile and said,
>> > "My child, they're all here with me."
>> >
>> > I asked, "God, why He gave me the boxes,
>> > Why the gold, and the black with the hole?"
>> > "My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
>> > The black is for you to let go."
>> >
>> > We should consider all of our friends a blessing.
>> > Send this to a friend today just to let them know you are
>> > thinking of them and that they are a joy in your life:
>> >
>> > A ball is a circle, no beginning, no end.
>> > It keeps us together like our Circle of Friends
>> > But the treasure inside for you to see
>> > Is the treasure of friendship you've granted to me.
>> >
>> > Today I pass the friendship ball to you.
>> > Pass it on to someone who is a friend to you...
>> >
Although I will remain an agnostic, there are a number reasons why I refuse to snicker at a believer. A big one is the peace and comfort it has brought to my friends and family.

I think Stephen Hawking has got some wise words to say on this matter. If you check out his lesser known career as a gangster rap star on www.mchawking.com In particular the two MP3 tracks "E=mc hawking" and
"F*ck the Creationists"

erict3,
I don't need god to realize and undestand the points your friend makes in his email.
In fact I guess I was born like that, or my parents brought me up well. Without god.

That people change is a known fact, and some of them, when the change is radical, tend to endorse it to a miraculous occurrence. It is called growing up. Also known as coming down to your senses.

I certainly understand better someone who was brainwashed since early age and is a believer than the so called born again xians, for the latter are a total bore. Parroting all the time the myths and sci-fi tales written on that book.

I've never even tried to talk a believer into tossing the useless crutch of religion, since I know it is impossible, and furthermore I don't care. By the same token, I have no respect whatever for the idiots that every once in a while ring the bell to my house and try to sell me their beliefs, or else I'll go to hell. My usual response to those pinheaded retards is that I am a pagan that lives in adoration of horus, the Egyptian sun god, at which point they look at each other (they always come in pairs), and leave. Cheers.

Looks like Memo got another vote, Jim. LOL
I'm still not voting. I simply don't feel I know anyone well enough to discriminate against the others.

I'll never understand why anyone wants to contribute all the good things that happen to them to any god. Quite frankly, I like to take credit for my own good fortune. I'd much rather believe that it was a series of good decisions that brought "luck" upon me.
Why should I share the credit with anyone?
